Jim Rowland joined MI Technologies as Director of Customer Support in May 2007. In this role Jim is responsible for leading and growing the field Customer Support activities, including field service support of our many customers world wide, In addition to providing traditional repair and calibration services, this group also provides customer test facility probing, characterization and relocation services, range equipment refurbishments and supports new system upgrades and installations.

Prior to joining MI Technologies, Jim held positions of increasing responsibility in the Aerospace and Defense industry, including Operations Management and Senior Program Management positions with BAE SYSTEMS and most recently as General Manager of Ultra Electronics EMS Development Corporation in Yaphank, NY, a leading provider of power conversion and electromagnetic signature management equipment for the US Navy and friendly navies around the world.

Jim’s management career includes various assignments in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Program Management with Texas Instruments, Systems Research Laboratories Inc, BAE SYSTEMS and Ultra Electronics Holdings plc. At BAE SYSTEMS, a multinational defense contractor, Jim was a Senior Program Manager leading development and production programs for avionics displays, including fixed Heads Up Displays (HUD) and helmet mounted night vision goggle HUDs. Prior to this assignment he served as Director of Operations for BAE SYSTEMS in Dayton, OH leading the electronics manufacturing, quality, materials and field service functions for this division.

He has been an active supporter of community service organizations, including fund raising efforts for the United Way at BAE SYSTEMS and Ultra Electronics and involvement in church activities. He is also active in the National Defense Industrial Association, as well as other industry associations including Navy League; Army Aviation Association of America; Association of the US Army and the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association.

Jim holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute and has done graduate training in management as well as other formal training in a variety of subjects including strategy and management development, business development, quality systems and manufacturing management.
