Charles R. Smith is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MI Technologies. He was named to this position in 1997 after the Company was formed by acquiring the assets of Scientific-Atlanta, Inc.’s microwave instrumentation business.

Prior to joining MI Technologies, Charlie served sixteen years with Scientific-Atlanta in various financial and managerial positions including Corporate Vice President and Treasurer, Group Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of various small business ventures. Prior to Scientific-Atlanta, Charlie spent several years working as a project engineer for Marathon Oil Company.

Charlie is active in a number of industry and community service organizations. He presently is a member of the Financial Executive Institute and the American Electronics Association (AeA). Charlie is a past president of the Atlanta Treasury Management Association.

Charlie holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and a Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University. He also completed the Harvard School of Business’ Corporate Financial Management Program.
