Spherical Near-Field Measurement
Correction Techniques Presented at EuCAP 2007
A technical paper entitled "Spherical Near-Field
Antenna Measurements: A Review of Correction Techniques" was
presented by Dr. Doren Hess, Senior Staff Engineer at MI
Technologies, at EuCAP 2007 in Edinburgh, UK.
The paper presents an introductory
review of spherical near-field scanning measurements with emphasis
on the general applicability of the technique and a survey of the
various methods to improve measurement accuracy by correcting the
acquired data before performing the transform and by special
processing of the resulting data following the transform. The paper
also explores the new IsoFilterTM post-processing technique that
assists in suppressing extraneous signals due to scattering from
antenna range apparatus.
