MI Technologies Features New Wireless Test and Measurement Systems at CTIA 2002

Leading supplier showcases fast, near-field and      far-field measurement systems in Booth #2990

ATLANTA: MI Technologies, a leading global supplier of microwave instrumentation, products and systems for control, test and measurement, is demonstrating two new products from its MI-3600 family of antenna measurement systems at CTIA March 18-20.

Featured in Booth #2990 will be the MI-3614 far-field antenna test and measurement system and the MI-3630 near-field system set up for cylindrical measurements. Other products in the booth include MI Technologies’ data acquisition and analysis workstations, position controllers and positioners including the new MI-7125 dielectric azimuth positioner for Wireless antenna testing.

The MI-3600 products are ideally suited to meet the needs of commercial wireless markets, which include fixed and mobile voice and data communications antennas and devices.

The MI-3600 test and measurement family of products offers 10 far-field antenna pattern measurement systems with single and dual axis configurations. The family also includes 10 near-field measurement systems.

The products provide fast and accurate data acquisition and analysis of traditional antenna performance such as pattern characteristics, gain, front-to-back ratios and sidelobe levels. The far-field products cover the 500 MHz to 6 GHz frequency range, and the near-field products cover 400 MHz to 18 GHz."

Wireless applications for the MI-3600 family of products range from cellular and PCS (pico, micro and macro site) base station antennas for any air interface, embedded antenna elements, handsets, laptop PCs, wireless LAN devices, Bluetooth devices, MMDS antennas Inmarsat antennas and automotive telematics devices.

While the various models within the MI-3600 family feature different receivers, transmitters and software programs to meet specific measurement needs, each system is a complete instrumentation package consisting of a workstation computer with software, positioner for rotating the device under test, position controller, receiver, transmitter and source antenna.

MI Technologies’ quality products comprise the system elements. The Company recently announced it has partnered with the Anritsu Company for the supply of vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and other products for use in the MI-3600 family.

MI Technologies’ MI-7125 Dielectric Positioner is designed to support fast, accurate testing of Wireless antennas. The MI-7125 is used with MI Technologies’ MI-3600 family of dual-axis, far-field test and measurement products.
