MI Technologies Receives Spherical Near-Field Measurement System Order from the University College of London

ATLANTA:  MI Technologies announced today it has received an order from the University College of London (UCL) for a turnkey spherical near-field antenna measurement system. The equipment will be used for developing a range of antenna applications at the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Paul Brennan and Mr. Erik De Witte from the Microwaves, Radar & Optics group.

UCL is the largest of more than 50 colleges and institutes, which make up the federal University of London. The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at UCL, has a long tradition of research excellence in Microwaves, Radar and Optics, dating back to its foundation in 1885 by Professor Sir Ambrose Fleming, inventor of the thermionic valve and constructor of the equipment used by Marconi for the first transatlantic radio communication in 1901.

Dr. Carlo A. Rizzo, European Operations Manager of MI Technologies, said, “MI Technologies is proud to supply an antenna measurement system to one of the leading universities in the world. The system we are providing will aid the design and development work of the Microwaves, Radar & Optics Group for future antenna projects.”

The new system will feature MI Technologies’ MI-2097 Automated Microwave Measurement System and a roll over azimuth positioning system. The Company’s MI-3001 Data Acquisition and Analysis Workstation will perform antenna measurements and generate reports.
