MI Technologies to Provide Upgrade to UK Antenna Test and Measurement System

ATLANTA:   MI Technologies announced today it has received an order from the UK’s Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) to provide upgrades to an existing outdoor far-field antenna test and measurement system. The equipment will be used in the design, development and validation of defense related RF projects.

Dstl serves as the center of scientific excellence for the UK Ministry of Defense, housing one of the largest groups of scientists and engineers in public service in the country. Under terms of the agreement, MI Technologies will install the outdoor test and measurement system at Dstl’s facilities in Pershore, UK. The facility is scheduled to be operational in the winter of 2005.

Dr Carlo A. Rizzo, Director, MI Technologies European Operations, said, "The Dstl order is a key achievement secured with the help of Castle Microwave Ltd., our representative in the United Kingdom. The antenna measurement system will be used to assess the performance of military vehicle-mounted antennas. I am confident that Dstl will benefit from the system for years to come."

The new system will feature MI Technologies’ MI-3000 Data Acquisition and Analysis Workstation, an MI-4190 Position Controller, a 5-Meter Azimuth Positioner upgrade, and an 8-Meter Source Tower upgrade in conjunction with various RF equipment.
